Prince George's County more deadly than Afghanistan...

From an article in the "Washington Examiner:

"The county has been rocked by news of a homicide spike since New Year's Day. The county's 13 killings exceed the 12 U.S. military deaths that have occurred this year in Afghanistan as of Friday morning."

It is our cause to dispel the foggy thinking which avoids hard decisions in the delusion that a world of conflict will somehow mysteriously resolve itself into a world of harmony, if we just don't rock the boat or irritate the forces of aggression—and this is hogwash."

I'm somewhat surprised... though not at all shocked.

Wife teaches near Andrews... I do so wish she could carry something other than her spray (which technically she can't even have on school grounds).

I only lived in Maryland for about 2 years as a teenager. Biggest run in with the law? Being chased through the woods around Loch Raven resevoir for illegal swimming. We did it all the time and laughed at the ranger's chasing us up the hill. Best was when we went down one day and saw a ranger hiding near our swimming spot.

We just went fishing, he accosted us, and my four friends slowly slipped up the hill while he questioned me. I said just fishing, sir. He eventually let me go with strict admonishment not to swim . We swam the next day and did not see him.

Prince George's County more deadly than Afghanistan......

At least in Afganistan you're issued a gun or two, a helmet and a flack vest.

What more can you expect from a communistic state?

Do you really believe this? It's rather silly, but most Americans are not capable of using reason. Are you worried about IEDs on the side of the road? I certainly do not worry about land mines and unexploded ordnance in the park. The comparison is silly and there is no correlation whatsoever between the two.
Does anyone here actually believe that the Founders were sitting around in John Adams' tavern UNARMED because they believed a bar should be a gun free zone?

    Well, let's see...

We're in Afghanistan because the US and England want to regain control of the opium trade. We're using US Marines to guard the poppy fields, we have contractors and soldiers smuggling processed pure opium to the EU and the USA, and the big international banks are profiting tremendously by laundering the drug money...

The majority of the crack and opiates that are the root of the East Coast drug market in the US (including Baltimore) are being brought into the US through covert CIA programs, and they have intentionally targeted black, lower-class neighborhoods as their "clearinghouses" for their wares, and the big international banks are profiting tremendously by laundering the drug money....

The majority of the people who die in MD because of gun violence are poor and lower-middle-class, black and hispanic males, in the 18-24 demographic.

The majority of US troop casualties are black and hispanic males, 18-24, who come from poor or lower-middle-class backgrounds.

The US created the Mujahadeen, which has since morphed into the Taliban and Al-CIAda, which is who we are supposedly fighting in Afghanistan.

The US is actively arming the Mexican drug gangs through BATFEs project "Fast and Furious", and the Mexican drug pipeline is one of the main distributors of drugs in the US (second only to the CIA...).

Actually, you are correct now. It's just earlier in the year, the death toll in PG County WAS higher than the US troop death toll in Afghanistan.

AS to today, there have been 59 Us troops killed in Afghanistan, while only 22 homicides have happened in PG County this year...

That's SOOOOO much more comforting, to know that an urban county that borders the Nation's Capitol has a murder rate that is only HALF that of a war zone...

I'm sure the People of PG County are relieved to know that...

There is not an active insurgency occurring in PG County at this time.

Yeah, if you don't count the massive growth of West-coast and Central-American gangs (like MS-13) as an active insurgency...

Organized Cop-killing operations, rape, extortion, large-scale international drug-smuggling, intimidating witnesses, racketeering, and kidnapping--sure, there's no insurgency coming from foreign groups of well-organized, well-armed, and politically-motivated groups in MD... Not at all...

I grew up in PG county and still have family there but unless I have to go back for a funeral I have no plans on going back because of the crime rate. When I want to see family I have them come to down to VA and we meet up there.
