ARLINGTON (CBS) – A blog threatening members of Congress in the wake of the Tucson, Arizona shooting has prompted Arlington police to temporarily suspend the firearms license of an Arlington man.

It was the headline “1 down and 534 to go” that caught the attention. “One” refers to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot in the head in the rampage, while 534 refers to the other members of the U.S. House and Senate.

Police are investigating the “suitability” of 39-year-old Travis Corcoran to have a firearms license (end of quote)

The term "firearms license" really got my attention. Since when have you been required to have a license to possess a firearm?
Oh yes, his firearms were confiscated also.

Edit: This is Arlington, Massachusetts, NOT Arlington, Virginia.

Thank you, VApatriot. I saw the story was linked to a Boston news source. My wrong assumption was Arlington, Va. for the story. My bad.

I guess that explains what I questioned!

I don't see how its that much different than the cop in Palo Alto who put up on facebook that open carriers should be shot. By the same token, shouldn't this police officer also be stripped of his right to carry firearms?

Maybe this MA man who is under scrutiny for his comments should just tell everyone he was only joking.
