I will be applying for a CPL soon. My problem is, I live in Bellingham, Whatcom co. I know I should not expect difficulty before doing this, but, I live in bellingham. Would I have less animosity from the Whatcom Co LEOs for requesting a CPL?

Nah it's painless they fingerprint ya send you on your way, as long as you are clear you will get it on the 30th day.

I live IN Seattle and went to the KCSO. They issued without comment. KCSO does require you to go to their HQ in downtown Seattle though.

Tried that here in Yakima, went to Sheriffs Office to renew but was directed to the City PD as I live in the City.

RCW 9.41.070 Concealed pistol license -- Application -- Fee -- Renewal.

(13) A person may apply for a concealed pistol license:

(a) To the municipality or to the county in which the applicant resides if the applicant resides in a municipality;

(b) To the county in which the applicant resides if the applicant resides in an unincorporated area; or

(c) Anywhere in the state if the applicant is a nonresident.

They want you to go to the right place because it affects the way the money is divided. Isn't that always the way it is. About the money?

Does it really take close to $60 to cover the cost of the paper and time involved for a CPL? This is the electronic age and not everything takes hours of manual processing by dozens of people (unless you ask a public employee union rep).

Wonder how many of these "checks" are done in an hour by a clerk making about $20 or so per hour?

Just another source of revenue for all who touch it.

went in to lesa (once you told me, I realized this is where I got my CPL the first time) after work friday.. hit security with hardly anyone in line...got upstairs...waited in that line about 20 minutes.. five or six people in front of me was all... and back out the door I went... pretty easy peasy all the way round...

oh and for those wondering, I (gasp!) went in unarmed to speed my way through security... of course I still had my brain with me and that is after all the deadlist weapon we posses...

thanks for all the input...
