Who Runs the Humane Society

I wonder why these local humane societys don't have a large disclaimer on their websites stating they are not affiliated with HSUS and don't share their views. Or perhaps they do and enjoy the national organization and their policies.

The one in Monroe County let you know they are not part of the nation Humane Society, although I have had issues with these people about adopting, they don't like to give let people with cats adopt their dogs...oh well flint did! 10 years later the dog and cat are still best of "frienemys" :eek:

according to Monroe County's Humane society their web site
"We are an independent Humane Society and the only Humane Society assisting animals in Monroe County. We do not receive any financial support from the Humane Society of the United States, the Michigan Humane Society or the American Humane Association."
