I do a lot of overnight catfishing during the summer in the Blythe area: from Mayflower Park and every other place to Goose Flats and the local backwaters and channels that run from the Colorado River. And I also do a lot of overnight fishing in the Parker Dam area. My question is, can I safely open carry my 12gauge in a scabbard? Loaded in the magazine tube, but not chambered? Side saddles with shells? Thanks!

What side of the river will you be on?
I feel safer with a baseball bat than an unloaded gun. It is difficult to load when you wake up to a critter chewing on you or holding a loaded gun in your face.
