I should be able to fondle (or stroke or caress) my weapon (LEOs do), as long as I don't "whip it out" (until and unless it is needed).

I noticed the same thing about Trudeau's recent comic, but I bet it went completely over his head.

I don't know if I'd go that far. I think he thinks he's being snarky and sarcastic. That is to say, I think snark and sarcasm were his goal.

The success or failure depends on perspective. Personally, I think he failed.

I don't like the high cap "clips" reference either, as it seems to be done in mediaspeak, which means " I am stupid on this subject". Fondling a Glock- well it could be an OCer who has a crappy belt and is trying to keep the holster from flopping around. Probably a cheap Uncle Mikes holster too LOL. Of course the Glock fondler might be a cop, what with the "Glock leg" problem among LEO's.:lol:
