Yeah here it is again.
This is the corrosive effect of corruption destroying the little faith that is left in the institutions of our fair Commonwealth. Corruption is the harbinger of tyranny.
Certain Commonwealth Senators putting themselves above the rules. Ruling by fiat and inventing ways to ensure that any attempt to hold them accountable is difficult indeed.
This evil arrived last year. The pro gun community ignored the travesty. Instead of an all out political fight, many chose to celebrate the concealed carry in restaurants that serve alcohol ban repeal. A P4P scrap from the table. What did the evildoers in the Senate learn from our timid response? They learned that they can do almost anything they want without consequences.

Yesterday the Republican Party of Virginia issued a press release and video surrounding the "controversy" when Senate Democrats decided to kill some right wing bills in subcommittee this week and not allow a full committee vote.
Following that press release, right wing bloggers began piling on and on and on and on and on.
First of all, there was no "rule breaking" as RPV alleged. In fact- guess where the rule that was used to not hear these bills came from?
Got your guess ready?
It was the Republicans! GOP Senate Leader Tommy Norment stood up and requested... no he implored Senate Democrats to add this rule to allow the Senate to kill bills in subcommittee to speed up the legislative process.
Check out this video of Norment on the floor requesting this rule change. RPV, you are pathetic. Every blogger who called for Senator Janet Howell to resign owes her an apology.

NLS slaps Colgan in the FACE to Protect Howell???
by Shaun Kenney
Just hours after Senator Chuck Colgan, the most senior member of the State Senate and longtime Democrat condemns the actions of refusing to hear bills shot down in subcommittee, Ben Tribbett over at Not Larry Sabato rushes to Janet Howell’s defense.
So have the Senate rules changed? Of course they haven’t. Newsflash: Norment is wrong too.
Last Time I Checked A Rejected Rules Change Request Didn’t Override The Rules

Shaun Kenney highlights attempts by the Left to come to P&E Cmte. Chairman Janet Howell’s defense for the indefensible abuse of power that she committed in violating Senate rules.
So, what is the meme being spouted by the Leftosphere in an attempt to justify these actions?
Republican Senate Leader Tommy Norment tried to get the rules changed to allow for Senate subcommittees to kill legislation.
One problem.
Norment’s attempt to change the rules FAILED.
That’s right. It failed. That means the Senate rules stand and subcommittees do not have final disposition over legislation, but can only make recommendations to the full committees which must then vote on the legislation.
This attempt by the Left to murky the waters smacks of desperation since this defense is so weak to begin with.
