Wife and I did a little get-a-way this weekend. The day started out after the open carry lunch by open carrring and met up with my wife in the dress barn then Wall Mart Rainbow and 215. Later got a room at the El Cortez hotel I was in conceal mode the little time I did spend in the casino. Went to Boulder Station to watch a move in conceal mode. The ticket booth for the theater had a small sign had to be looking for it, which said no conceal or open carry into the movie. Over heard some whom, in some eyes might look to be gang bangers say, dam man we are going to have to put our illegal guns in the car so we do not break the theater rules. I kept mine.
Left the movie, back to open carry mode and headed for the Outback steak house on Sunset Rd no problems at Outback. Back to the hotel and wife and I decided to walk Freemont Street, me open carrying. Several Metro and some security not a word about my firearm. Went into a few souvenir shops, no issues. Decided to get a soda from a Walgreens there was a young man standing just inside the door with a security jacket on, no radio, no firearm, no mace, not even a flashlight, me left handed he did not see the my firearm. He sure did see it while waiting to check out. I gave him a quick hi how are you doing. He replied with an ok while staring at my firearm nothing else was said.
This morning leaving, the hotel decided to open carry on the way to the car. Did not have to go into the casino to leave. There was a camera just outside the room door and apparently, the hotel does have on the ball people watching. Just as we got to the car, an armed hotel security walked by pretended to be checking out a car just down from ours he never said a word we were leaving anyways.
On the way home decided to go into Wholefood store in the Town Center. I knew after reading some postings Town Center security has asked a group of open carry people to leave in the past. No problem for us in the store several of the workers saw my firearm however we never did go in the the main section of town center shopping area.
Went to fry’s as usual no problems.
Went to the In-N-out on Blue Diamond Rd near Bass Pro no problems however as we were leaving a woman stopped me and asked what do I do to carry a gun. To make it a shorter conversation I said if you are legal to purchase a gun, Nevada law allows you to open carry a gun as well. She asked if a permit was need, I said nope any one legal to have a gun and learning the stay out areas in Nevada they can open carry a gun. She said I believe we want to hang out with you and your wife.
