    Pasadena OC Event

In (dis)honor of the author of AB144, we should hold an OC get together up in Pasadena...

Any OCers live up in that area willing to coordinate an event?

We had one on Colorado some time ago. I think it was last May.

Yeah would love to help get that together.

Colorado - Green / Delacey - Raymond safe travel. Back in May, myself and others checked it out thoroughly. No issues at all with PPD, and they new in advance we were there

Of course we go at own risk.

We need someone in that area to coordinate the event...

Can't do it well when I don't live or work up there, need volunteers to coordinate event, not just show up.

Need people to be a little more than bench warmers.

Here are good coordinates. BUT please do your own home work

Again, back last May we were very thorough with our 626 homework

In the heart of Colorado Blvd turned out to be a great place ot UOC.

    Coordinates:

    De Lacey to the west

    Arroyo Pkway to the east

    Union St. to the North

    Green St to the South

We can park at the parking structure at Green and Raymond. Meet in front of Lucky Baldwins. Yes, its called the school house parking lot. How Ironic.
PS: Lucky Baldwin is unfriendly territory. DO NOT enter or spend money in LB.
Our walk will be primarily on Colorado. Really great place to UOC.
I will take the point and lock down a Saturday late morning date. Barney's on the Blvd is
Liberty oriented and lunch menu is pretty good.

    OK more later...p

depending on the day and time (read: if I am not out getting my boar at the same time) I might be able to drive up from SD area to attend this....

Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee and teeming with souls shall it ever be.

SBUX is on the hairy edge of 626. Barney's is outside of the zone.

How about March 5th at say 11:00am.

Please check in or PM me so that I can get rough head count.

    Thx...p

That'd work for me and my wife...

If someone wants to confirm the date with the business we can post it on our calendar and advertise to the SBOC list to get more folks.

How about the Sunday? In the evening? Maybe thats more available to most people? Say after typical church time? Anywhere in between 2pm and 7pm?

Is Barneys that Bar thats on Colorado in Old Town?

The High School is 3696ft from Barneys
169 S St John Ave Pasadena, California 91105

The Waverly School is 3696ft from Barneys
98 West Bellevue Drive. Pasadena, California

International Montessori is 2112 feet from Barneys
355 West Green Street, Pasadena, CA 91105-1835

Theres a few schools on the corner of Walnut St and North Fair Oaks Ave.

Does California Graduate School of Design count as a P.C. 626 law?

What school could be too close? Isnt the required distance 1000 feet from a school. We'd be beyond that, unless theres a school on Google Maps I cannot see.

Barneys... Alcohol and Guns dont mix! :P

Unless you mean Barneys Beanery lol

Oh i'd also like to add that theres a Billiard Place that could go to, maybe they're UOC Friendly? Sorry im rambling lol.

    Great HG,

Still would like to 3-5-11, 11:00am.

Last time I just made a request for 12 people at Barney's did not explain OCDO. Barney's is cool, and will ask that they accomodate for (to be detemined qty) of guests.

Yes, they like most food establisments serve alcohol. My personal opinion is booze and guns dont mix. Booze and automobiles dont mix either. Its a matter of consumption.

Shall we all just show up individually to not make a big scene? Keep it low key?

I'll post it on the SBOC calendar...

I'm interested in attending, and this will be first UOC event. I'll be coming alone, so I hope to meet some cool people. Anyone coming from the Northridge area and want to carpool?

Are we parking a lot the mentioned earlier in the post? Do I just show up holstered at Raymond and Green at 11AM?

Not necessary zeroG to park at R and G. Its convenient. You can UOC after you park as long as you of course are in the designated safe area. We will walk to Barney's 11:00 or meet there say 11:30 or so.

    Hope that helps

    Event Update

I just received some news from one of our SBOC members in Pasadena.

I do not want to disclose exactly what happened here but I would HIGHLY ADVISE not all showing up at the same time as a large group here.
Since no one cleared this with the restaurant as a large group meeting having a large group show up all at the same time may have some negative consequences.

I STRONGLY URGE you all to show up as individual parties that happen to be open carrying and then we can just mingle once already seated individually.

Always bring recording/video equipment and have it ON AND RECORDING if you are OCing.

If there are any issues with the venue we have a backup that is OC friendly, but I will not post it here. You'll just have to find me at the event Saturday to find out where it is.

Wow, I wonder what happened. I guess I won't be attending as I have no desire to carry and eat in a restaurant alone for my first UOC. Maybe the next one will be more publicized or I can talk someone into going with me.
