Just heading on to Tucson. Stopped for dinner with the lady and a friend. Neutral stop as all the LEOs were polite and understood the laws. They did pull ID for all three of us (I informed him that CA is not a stop and ID state).

I gave in for the sake of time but will be informing their department of laws regarding open carry. Not to "poke the bear" as they put it, but just so they know what to and what not to do.

Its all about awareness and education.

What was that all about? Who's the bear? Do they think they are the bear? We the People are the bear!
Exactly. They may be a bit taken aback once the PRAR comes to their department. Shortly followed by a letter from an attorney. :)

Educate first. I want to make sure the attitude of "it's his right when I determine it is" exists no more. Not to mention pulling IDs without RAS or PC of a crime.

Police are refered to as "Bears" on citizens band (CB) radios, perhaps thats why they call them that lol.

"What do you got going on between here and the casinos [Las Vegas]?"

"We got a county-mounty sitting on the westbound side takin' laser of the eastbound side..."

"Copy that, good buddy!"

I love being a truck driver's kid...lol

I'll bet dimes to donuts they asked for your ID and you willfully gave it to them. That constitutes a consensual act between two adults, no rights violated, no crime committed. You are not going to get a department to "retrain" in that regard.

The opposite is true, they train these LEOs to ask for the moon and get you to consent to searches, seizures and questioning.

Don't waste your time asking a 'bear' to stop being a 'bear'. Next time stand up for your rights and see if they violate them.
