Hey guys, it has been a minute or two since I checked in on the forums. Nice to see the new look. I feel it will make a much better impression on those newbie OC'ers that decide to check us out.
Alright, now here's the goods --
One of the reasons I moved to Idaho was their open carry policies. That is not just legally, but as perceived by the general community. For example, in Mississippi, one could OC only if thy possessed a CWP. This was/is because State law read that the weapon was concealed, "in whole or in part", by the holster itself. Even if a Derringer were to be worn on a throng around the neck, the throng itself would be concealing a portion of the firearm. The reason for the CWP.

I, being the only one of my friends to pay the $260 in fees, gas, and time-- not including the two days off that I had to take (where I did not EARN any $$$) because I showed up 15 minutes past the four hour window they take applications on a Monday morning...... I digress. I was the only one of our friends that had a CWP and would only get to OC during hunting trips out in the Delta. Where most people didn't question a half dozen guys in camo.
Back at home, Ole Miss, I just found it easier, and tactically superior, to CC.
Moving to Idaho--
I OC'ed from Day One. I don't recall having any one negative reaction. In fact, quite the opposite. I have had countless experiences that were positive, while OC'ing. Even our local Crunchy Co-op, of which we are members, has produced a positive take towards firearms and people toting them around the store.
Fast forward
Eight years of back trouble and pain had finally caught up to me. However, most of the time I continued to carry. Because you never break Rule #1: Always be Armed. I have used every type of holster and firearm to varying levels of success to always abide by that. However, last fall, I was unable to do it any longer. My spine was playing Chutes and Ladders.
After several months of intense therapy and nutritional changes, I have hit a milestone. I am 35 pounds lighter and in much better physical condition. I think I'm ready to make that transition again, and keep my gun more accessible than off body carry allows. I have gone from XL shirts, to medium. Lost 6 inches in the waist and 3 in the chest. None of my gear fits anymore: belts, pants, shirts, hats. Even my shoes fit a little more loose.
Could somebody help me out?
Now that I have a slimmer profile, I am able to move my firearm toward the front half of my body. I am going to carry more in the 1:30 to 2:00 position, with a vertical cant. The rig I am looking at is a Raven Concealment Systems, Phantom Series holsters- http://www.ravenconcealmentsystems.com/index.php?cPath=82_85_93. Regardless, their backorder is quite a ways out and I was wondering if someone had a Kydex or Leather holster, with a vertical cant, that would hold a Glock 22 or 23? If someone would let me wear it for a couple weeks, that would be AMAZING!
