Went to McDonalds with my wife, and coincidentally a group of people left and one older gentleman stopped by and with chuckle said "see you come in and ya clear the place out"

Oh hi, I'm alive.

OC'ing pretty much everywhere I go now, no real problems. A few people a day ask me about OC but no rude comments.

OC'ing inside a gas station in Detroit today. Some guy walks in...rapping, reeking of weed, talking to his buddy about his court date, with a Glock hanging out of his sweat pants pocket. His sweat pants were down to his knees...and the gun was about to fall out.

The thing that sketched me out the most was the duct tape on the grip of the gun and on the slide, most likely to avoid fingerprints.

10 points for Detroit reminding me why I carry every day.

Also, started carrying my LCP sometimes as a BUG at work. This this is so light I forget it's there =(

@Mike - no worries. He's the same type that forgets he handled the mags & rounds in them too...

Man - I do not miss these Detroit types! On topic OC'd at Home Depot & Subway. No one cared as it should be.

OC'd today at the Dundee Kroger while picking up medication. On the way out to my car a guy walking in noticed me and said "oh!....what?...holy s#%t!" It was funny, I have never had that reaction before.
No problems.

The weather was warm today and cabin fever had set in so Yooperlady and I hopped in the Camaro and went to the "A" (used to be the A&W) in Flushing for some ice cream.

Apparently many other folks had the same idea since there were quite a few customers there including 7 small kids and their parents.

Golly! Although my sidearm was noticed no one much cared. None of the kids got scared and none of the parents ran around tearing their hair out screaming.....

In fact... we ate our treat, paid our bill, and left all to the noticeable lack of any kind of drama what so ever.

Ah ...the A&W or "A" in this case. I miss those. Last time I went to one it was with a group of really good people all carrying pistols. :DWeather was sunny & 86° today. Cleaned the pool and took a dip. OCed at FRY's to pick up dinner from the bistro ( baked chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans with a side of mac&cheese for the little one.) No one gave a damn as usual...as it should be ;).

Well, open carried really for the first time yesterday, other than the Big Boy restaurant dinner in Grandville and around the house. To my surprise I had a pretty cool experience.

Stopped and got fuel while heading up to the U.P with the family for the weekend, pumped gas and headed to the side of the building to use the rest room. I walked past a truck where a lady was sitting in the passenger side, she noticed my holstered side arm right away. The rest room was occupied so I stood and waited outside. The womans husband came out from inside the store and jumped in the truck. At that point she pointed me out, her husband got right out and came to the rest room door and told his son to hurry up and finish. He turned and faced me, so I said hey how's it going? He said he was fine and asked where I was from as he glanced at my holstered pistol, he seemed very nervous so I struck up a conversation about how my wife and I and the kids were heading up to see if we could get lucky enough to see some northern lights. He seemed much more comfortable after talking for a bit. After his son came out of the rest room he looked down at my pistol and said, "hey I like that" and told me to have a good night and good luck on the northern lights.

Was pretty happy about the encounter and thought I would share it.

OC'd while working outside around my house...nothing out of the ordinary.

Then I went to downtown Grand Rapids to get some documents at the Kent County Building. It was such a beautiful day that I decided to park near the Ford Presidential Museum and walk the few blocks to the county offices. As I was walking across Calder Plaza some young men, who were tossing a football to each other, noticed the pistol. They yelled out to me to get my attention and then gave me a thumbs up.

While I stood in line to get what I came for, a young mother and her son walked up and stood behind me. After a few minutes, the woman asked if I was cop. After I told her that I was a teacher, she began to tell me that I should be able to carry at school. I told her that I already legally could, if I open carried. Just then, I was called up to the counter. I completed my transaction and walked the few blocks back to my car without any issues.

Took Yooperlady out to Lucky's Steak House in Clio (our 6th anniversary) and because I was wearing a red shirt to match her red blouse my black sidearm stood out just a bit... well... a lot. Many folks noticed... not one cared.

Then off to Wal Mart where again... many folks noticed and not one cared.

OC'ed at the Rest Area between Whitehall and Muskegon. Afterwards I OC'ed at Firehouse Music in Norton Shores. A few folks noticed my XDm 9mm, but none of the customers said anything while I was talking guitars and guns with the manager.

been all over lately, total firearms, not just guns, ace hardware in mason a few times, subway in mason a few times, arbys in mason, various walks in and around mason.

took the fiance up to flint, birch run and frankenmuth for her birthday this past weekend(and i made extra careful to avoid the alcohol selling shops) went to the ironhorse in durand on the way up, hit up a dozen or so shops in frankenmuth, probably half a dozen in the birch run outlet mall, went to the gen. valley mall in flint, was there for awhile and seemingly nobody noticed until a security guard talked to me right as we were getting ready to leave, stating they had a no weapons policy applying to not only firearms but knives, we left peacefully rather than disarming at the jeep(you are beyond retarded to willingly go unarmed in flint imo), but i did point out a few people with knives in pockets to the guard as we were being escorted out...which he of course ignored and did not point out to the other guards in the mall, dont ya just love selective enforcement? then oc'd at the hotel(baymont inn) without issues, then went to some private property with family for some shooting, somebody brought out a .500 s&w, which was fun.

And now im going for a walk up to ace hardware again.
