Fort Wayne- - Open Carry Lunch/Breakfast

I started this new thread in hopes that ppl from around my area (northeast Indiana) would to have get-togethers from time to time. Eat, talk about issues and preferences on gun choices.

Well that's good to hear hogeater. Unfortunately we would need a couple more to make it worth our while, you know? It would be GREAT to have a local meeting of open carriers in the area.

Really?? all the views and NO ONE has contacted me in regards to having a get together, or even about the one that is happening March 27. We need to have more of these events to educate people on their rights. So if you have any questions about the Meeting of the Indiana Gun Owners on the 27th of this month then send me an email or just reply on this thread.

Yeah, but hey I'm starting to think I need to live in wash, or Wis. At least you guys have OC events. It's hard to find them here around northern Indiana.

MI also has OC events. Have you tried INGO yet? They are much more active over there than here.

Yes, I have actually. That is how I got the hook-up to the next meeting on the 27th. Just figured there would be a lot more people wanting to get out there and meet other people who share some of the same views. Is your area active in the Eat and greet category?

Very active. First Sunday every month, we meet at a Starbucks in Delevan, WI. Every other week, we have fish fry at Lizzy in Kanasville. The Fridays we do not have a fish fry, that Sunday morning is breakfast as Lizzy's. These are just the regular events. Then once a month or two, we have other events, usually involving food. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever been to an event where food wasn't present.

    Newbie

I think it would be a great idea to get people here in the Fort to raise OC awareness and to get people used to seeing people lawfully carrying. I've lived here all my life (30 yrs) and almost never see anyone OCing. I've never owned a handgun until now because I never thought I needed one. I just hunted deer and rabbit and the shotguns did the trick. Now I have a wife and two kids and felt the need to be ready and able to protect them should (God forbid) the time come. I'm currently just range shooting and getting used to the gun and am waiting on my lifetime LTCH to arrive. Let me know if you get a meeting together in the future for Ft. Wayne.

I'm amazed at the amount of information on this forum and have also signed up at INGunOwners as well. If we don't exercise our rights.....then no one will notice them being taken. Thanks to all those that post and share knowledge to newbies like myself.

Yea, I'm open for doing a lunch sometime. I open carry when I go to Ft Wayne, which is not a lot. Usually only in the SW side/ Ill Rd area. I do go to Brandy's tho. And Checkers during bike night.

How many do you think we would need to get together for a breakfast or lunch? It would be nice if we could get 3-4 couples or at least 6-8 people. By people I'm talking adults,

Not sure but I bet we could. I'd be at least one couple. Maybe you can post a new thread to see who is intersted in doing one in the Fort.

Unfortunately I live in Florida now. (no OC :/ but working on it!) So I won't be able to help with any events in the future.
