GRNC Alert 2-22-11 #2:
2nd CASTLE DOCTRINE ON MOVE

Beyond the version receiving a floor vote in the Senate, Rep. Mark Hilton's original Castle Doctrine bill, HB 74, is receiving a hearing by a House Judiciary Subcommittee tomorrow afternoon. Nobody knows which bill will be the final version, so provide input on all of them. HB 74 contains essentially the same strong language as SB 34 which passed committee in the Senate yesterday.

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

* Contact all members of the Judiciary subcommittee listed below

DELIVER THIS MESSAGE

NC House Judiciary Members:

HB 74, "Castle Doctrine," is long overdue. Designed to enhance lawful North Carolinians' ability to protect their families against violent crime, the bill offers the added benefit of deterring such predators. To be effective, HB 74 must continue to protect victims outside the home, including in vehicles and workplaces. I strongly urge you to support the strongest possible version of the bill.

Respectfully,
