The national "open carry" movement, in which gun owners openly—and legally—carry guns in public, began in Virginia a decade ago. Meet three women who aren't bashful about it.

Very well done. As she says:

“I practice on guns from small .22s all the way up to huge military machine guns. My favorite’s my Glock 19. Many say it’s a manly gun, but I feel like it fits on me most comfortably. The kick isn’t too bad, but it’s still a pretty big bullet.”

Caitlin’s father is a former Army Special Forces weapons specialist. “He got me started in middle school, when I was old enough to control a gun,” says Caitlin. “I’m a great shot, by the way—not to brag.”

My daughters have 3 guns already and my oldest (14) told me that she likes one of my 45's so it may become hers soon. I don't know if my daughters will OC when the time comes but they WILL know how to shoot.

My daughter OC's empty as required by law to and from the range and LOADED on private property. In 8 weeks we will have a new firearm. Here is the build sheet:

Haha...that's exactly what I was thinking when I saw the pic. She needs to get the support hand behind the gun. Wrap the left thumb over the right.

Yeah, she does need some work on her grip but a grip is very personalized. I'd work on her stance first.

Fellas -

Cup & Saucer grip is very old school and Terri seems to be doing quite well with it.

As for stance - for some reason (why, I'll never figure out) wimmins seem to have this almost unbreakable desire to lean back when holding a pistol out in front of them. It's almost like they were counter-balancing the weight of the gun. (No. Seriously, I do understand it. Really I do. And I'm all in favor of letting them do that if they can still hit the target.)

Yes, for the "action" types of shooting they might (might, I say) actually do better putting their weak foot forward and leaning into the target (reverse for lefties). And yes, doing it that way gives them an advantage in handling recoil and getting back on target for follow-up shots. But it also takes something else out of their shooting.

If they are having fun and hitting the target, why mess with stuff.

Cup & Saucer may work fine for her with a semi-auto, but for a revolver she really needs to get that support grip behind the gun. The "lean back" is typical when women shoot Isosceles. With her current grip and lean back, the gun is going to kick and will be difficult to control.
