Kind of contradictory...

No Permit Required For Any Manner of Bearing Arms.

only the open carry of handguns may be regulated by law.

I would not sign such a petition.

i`am sure the regulation regarding open carry would include such places as police stations.courtrooms,etc.!i`am sure that once the required votes were achieved;some parts would be amended to be more clearly stated!

Why are police stations and courtrooms special places that OC should be restricted but not CC?

But as we have seen when the government has power to control, they will.

Which is why a Green Florida will never be a Gold Florida. Even Green is a slim-to-none proposition. I'm behind any improvement, but I believe this is a mis-step for promoting OC in FL.

Once controlled, it will never be un-controlled.

We'll see. If SB 234 passes, I don't think we'll have to wait 27 years for permitless carry in Fl.

My uncharacteristically sanguine prediction is that:

1. SB 234 passes.
2. More and more states, starting in all of the gold star states, will pass constitutional carry
3. More red states will become green.
4. The number of "prohibited places" will dwindle in many states.
4. Fl gets constitutional carry.

For #2, Mt and WY are next in line.

I believe WY is dead for this year. CO though has a chance, as does UT.

Hi kingfish,

It looks like it's dead in Utah, but very much alive in Wyoming (at least as of last night). In fact it seems passage is assured from what I read on an online local news site. It also looks decent in South Carolina.

Right, I had UT and WY backwards.
