I got a CCW four years ago. When i got it I was surprised it was just a piece of paper.

After four years, it's almost falling apart. Have these been updated yet to be more durable? For example, something similar to a driver's license?

No it is still a piece of paper. Laminate it!

In Pierce County/Tacoma, LESA will laminate it for a fee. That is what I choose to do.

Some places, such as Yakima (last I heard) issue the standard "plastic wallet card". Most in this state however still issue the standard paper permit.

I rec'd an 8.5x11 sheet in the mail from OZ. my license was the "fold and tear" type. Actually says [ State of Washington License to carry a concealed pistol ]. I like the idea of a color copy or three, add fresh ink sigs and laminate the lot.
