I have done a fair amount of research and believe I know the laws well but I thought I would check with you guys who deal with this daily to make sure I havent missed anything.

Simply put I can openly carry a loaded gun openly without a permit anywhere except school/airport/secure areas/ etc (the normal places offlimits in most states) correct?

This means in my wanderings through vegas for the day I am there I am not likely to break any laws (going to/from hotel, a restruant or 2, and maybe a show)?

If I have missed anything or am wrong please let me know, thanks.

Standard disclaimer: I am not a lawyer. Soliciting legal advice on an anonymous forum on the Internet may not be prudent.

The only places where open carry is prohibited by state law are those places where possession of a firearm is prohibited. These include the property of private or public schools, child care facilities, or property of the NV System of Higher Education.

Federal law still unconstitutionally prohibits possession within 1000 ft of a school, but I am not aware of anyone who has been arrested or prosecuted for this in NV.

When carrying on private property (including restaurants, casinos, etc), the property owner or manager may ask you to leave for any reason (or not give any reason at all) and you must leave. Failure to vacate the premises when asked could result in trespass charges.

I kinda wish you guys would accept out of state CCW permits....

Then there would be less incentive for you to move here to get a permit, which is our ultimate goal; get everyone to become a Nevada resident. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!

Looks about right. I OC'd up and down the strip and around town when I was there a couple weeks ago. No issues.

Lol. I just want to be able to visit and gamble without having to worry about getting kicked out, and I definitely do not want to be unarmed so.....(sigh)

You could always write to our law makers asking that they grant constitutional carry. Then you can carry concealed and go about you business on the casino floor unbothered. Just remember to drink in moderation when enjoying our gambling houses while carrying.

Here in the great state of Arizona we are allowed to carry a firearm in the glovebox or center console and it is still considered open carry if it is in a holster, so my question is since I don't have a Nevada CCW is that still allowed or is that a no-go?

In Nevada, a weapon is only "concealed" if concealed upon your person. There is no case law to support this, but an Attorney General opinion says that includes anything carried by you, such as a purse, backpack, or suitcase.

In the glove box, under the seat, etc is not "concealed" under the state's legal definition.
