Is it a local unit of Government? If not they can ban firearms. Preemption only applies to local units of Governments, like a city, township or county.

...and authorities comprised in part by "a city, township or county."

Can Charter legally put a no weapons sign on their door because of Mich preemption law. I was just wonder about it

Yes, but the good news is, you can take your business elsewhere. Your freedom to choose trumps their freedom to infringe.

Let them know why you are cancelling their service, though......
