AZ knife law/changed?

AZ law, anyone up on this? knife law is more confusing then gun law.

With a CWP... it covers everything. There is no limit to length/size of open carry of knives. They are 'Arms'.

So, just to claify, you can carry a gun (concealed) without a cwp but you cant carry a large folder without a cwp?

As far as I can tell (IANAL), carrying a knife is almost exactly like carrying a firearm in terms of open vs concealed and permits.

Under 21 you can carry any kind of knife you like as long as it's visible, and there is an exception allowing pocket knives to be concealed. Carrying a folder concealed should be fine.

21 and over you can carry whatever you like, however you like.

I don't believe there are any restriction regarding carrying a knife in a restaurant, and schools are still allowed to prohibit knives.

Constitutional Carry applies to any "weapon," not just firearms. ARS 13-3102, the weapons "misconduct" section applies to knives as well as firearms.

If you are in the 18-21 crowd, the same laws apply for knives as they do for firearms. Open carry only, etc. See ARS 13-3102.B.3.

As an FYI, last year Arizona became the first state to have a knife preemption law. I don't remember the ARS section, but the bill was SB 1153. If you look it up at the Legislature's website, don't forget to change legislative sessions otherwise you'll be looking at this year's SB 1153 - an entirely different bill.
