How does 3292 allow OC?

There is no right to open carry in TN or GA. It is a privilege extended to those whom have obtained the government's permission.
I would contend that there is no "right" to bear arms anywhere in the country, as a "right" cannot be restricted and yet it is...everywhere.

South Carolina Senate Bill 3292 would Authorize Open Carry of a Loaded Handgun by Deleteing The now Antiqueted Provisions of Law in Reference to Carrying a Handgun, and Repalce such provisions to ONLY Apply to those Persons who go Armed WITH INTENT to Harm another or Use The Firearm to The Furtherance of any Crime.

Unfortunately, as pointed out by others elsewhere, this would still only apply to SC residents. I have CCW permits from 2 states, but still can't carry OC or otherwise in SC. This is a bummer because I have family there and we visit every once in a while. I'm just trying to figure out how a southern state got to be so draconian with their firearms laws.

Our gun laws in South Carolina are remnants of the Reconstruction Era, designed to disarm black folks by prohibiting the carrying of firearms altogether, then granting exemption to the law by issuing permits.

So sad and frustrating, but so true.

SC has tons of brainwashed concealed weapons instructors that are so against open carry and unlicensed carry, yet they don't know that racism was the reason for creating the license system.

Hopefully when the legislation session begins again next year the NRA wont screw up H. 3292. I think it will pass in any form, but I hope that form will be in the form of true constitutional carry.

It is because of 'draconian' liberals.
