Man accidently shoots himself and dies during CCW course in Missouri.

When I first read the title, I thought, "what a dipstick!!", but after reading the article, I hope the family sues the instructor of the course.

This was a basic CCW class, not an advanced class, and the instructor was having them draw from the holster with their weak side hand, disengage the safety and fire live rounds.

Yeah. That's a foreseeable when drawing weak side. The barrel invariably ends up pointing at your chest. Every time.

Why did someone even attempt to tell them "It was a dropped gun that went off"..

Wow, that weak hand draw with chest roll is a terrible drill. Why not place the pistol between your legs to rotate grip or use the holster to rotate the pistol? Seems like suspect training on the instructors part, I don't know if I'd view him as criminally liable, but there are several better draws for the weak or reaction hand.
