Gators Guns in Kelso WA seems OC Friendly...

Went by Gators Guns in Kelso today to drop off some OC Flyers. Was OCing my .380 Hi-Point, and asked if I could leave the flyers. Apparently he's browsed the site a couple times, and didn't seem to mind, matter of fact, when I inquired about a holster, he wanted to see what my gun looked like. After doing that, I decided to keep my jacket off. I've done it the few times I've been there and it seems apparent that the owner is comfortable with it. Plus, you can get some great deals on some guns and ammo. Anyways, just thought I'd give a report on this.

A Gun Shop that isn't OC friendly doesn't seem to me to be a real Gun Shop.

Yea, but I did see a few stories on here where some gun shops seem to react negatively to OCers, so I thought I'd give a shout out and let everyone know that Gator's Guns is pretty friendly. The other gun store in Longview seems iffy on the subject.

Go in, shop, do your business. Leave the gun in the holster, do not touch it... act like you belong and it will be a non-issue.

Actually I'm surprised you didn't get any flak for the HiPoint, nevermind OC

    Gators Guns

I am new to this forum and just wanted to comment on the remark about the Hi-Point 380
I own a few handguns and one of them happens to be a hi-point 380
It may not have cost near what some of my others cost but it is a great little gun.
8 inch groups at 75 feet. never missfeeds, always ejects, handles any ammo tried.
Never had a problem with it.
This forum is about oc. Lets respect people for the oc of their guns and support any brand the person happens to choose.
we are all in this fight together.
    Respectfully.

LOL No I understand perfectly, BUT If I run out of ammo, I could throw the thing and kill someone with it, since it is heavier than a dang brick. But now that Gators is open, I may diversify, seeing as how gators has great deals and all.

Have to get two to carry so one will counter balance the other.

I had no idea there was a gun store there. I may have to stop in sometime soon.

And if they choose to make it an issue, just walk, along with your money. If enough people do so then maybe they might be more friendly.

Why do business with a Gun Dealer that doesn't respect your rights? Too many others do.

Made it down to this gun shop today to check it out. Nice place. Talked to the people working in there for awhile. They seem very nice. The proprietor shook my hand on my way out. I'll definitely stop in there when I've got some money to spend.

Oh, btw I talked with them about the recent WSP request for information on AR-15 sales. See that thread for more info on that.

When you walk into Gators store you will see a sign that basically says if the gun is in the holster no worries, but if it is removed from the holster it needs to be brought into a safe condition, mag out chamber empty. Gator has become the best gun shop in Longview/Kelso, I am not sure what happened at "The Gun Shop" in Longview, the selection, customer service and overall attitude in there has really degraded, I still go there but I leave empty handed and unsatisfied. Bobs is still a good resource for reloading but Gators has the goodies and better gun pricing.
Gator (Wally) is a no nonsense fella that will tell you exactly what is, wont BS you for a sale and is one of the few Gunsmith option in the area, he has helped me with a few mechanical issues and a Saiga 12 conversion (red jacket kind of stuff), performs bluing and parkerizing, very professional, ex 82 airborne and a man of truth and honor.
And yes he has become my friend, hard not to, his following is getting bigger all the time, people come in to shoot the breeze, by the stove, talk shop and just visit with the other gun enthusiast that visit the store, Gator leans towards tactical and defense but carries a wide assortment of wares, if he doesn't have it he will get it for you, and you will get a handshake on the way out.

Isn't that the way it goes. When your young you have to have a "crotch rocket". Then its the "Family Years" where the wife puts her foot down or there's no money for a motorcycle. After the kids leave the house it's then time for a real ride. A Gold Wing if your in for a "armchair ride" or a "Hog" if you're a purist.

    The "cycle of life".

After a couple of tries I finally ended up with a wife that says to me "why don't you go shooting today". Doesn't get much better than that. Of course she then goes to the Casino to play at HER hobby.

    +1

An a side not I don't believe men have "mid life crisis". I think it is men finally realizing they spent their whole life and money and time supporting and doing for others and finally just want somethings and fun for themselves.
I am not anti Cop I am just pro Citizen.

of their respect for what only appears to be a law, are cunningly coerced into waiving their
    rights, due to ignorance." (Paraphrased)

Amen to that, my first "and last wife I divorced after 23 years of supplying resources for her dreams, my girlfreind I have now is a 180 degree turn, she wants me to get the harley, to buy more guns, ammo. Doesnt get any better!!

We need to start a movement like the armstrong foundation, called "Carry Free" or something like that, have men and women commit to carrying 100 percent when they can, think of how the crime rate would drop!
