When you walk into Gators store you will see a sign that basically says if the gun is in the holster no worries, but if it is removed from the holster it needs to be brought into a safe condition, mag out chamber empty. Gator has become the best gun shop in Longview/Kelso, I am not sure what happened at "The Gun Shop" in Longview, the selection, customer service and overall attitude in there has really degraded, I still go there but I leave empty handed and unsatisfied. Bobs is still a good resource for reloading but Gators has the goodies and better gun pricing.
Gator (Wally) is a no nonsense fella that will tell you exactly what is, wont BS you for a sale and is one of the few Gunsmith option in the area, he has helped me with a few mechanical issues and a Saiga 12 conversion (red jacket kind of stuff), performs bluing and parkerizing, very professional, ex 82 airborne and a man of truth and honor.
And yes he has become my friend, hard not to, his following is getting bigger all the time, people come in to shoot the breeze, by the stove, talk shop and just visit with the other gun enthusiast that visit the store, Gator leans towards tactical and defense but carries a wide assortment of wares, if he doesn't have it he will get it for you, and you will get a handshake on the way out.
