comprehensive list of current pending gun related legislation at the state & fed leve

I'm trying to put together a comprehensive list of current pending gun related legislation at the state (TX) and federal level. I'll be posting this on my blog soon. Obviously it's not complete yet, but I wanted to get some feedback beforehand.

Are there any bills that I've forgotten?
Is the information shown accurate?
If you have similar info on bills in other states, I'd be happy to add them.
Other comments or ideas?

Thanks.

Oh, OK...

Here are some of the more notable bills in the NC legislature this session:

HB 52
"Castle Doctrine"
Gives people who lawfully use lethal force in self-defense civil immunity.
http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/BillLookUp/BillLookUp.pl?Session=2011%20%20&BillID=h52

HB 63
"Parking Lot Bill"
Makes it illegal for a business owner to forbid a licensed gun owner, including an employee, from keeping a gun out of sight in a locked vehicle in the business parking lot.
http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/BillLookUp/BillLookUp.pl?Session=2011 &BillID=h63

HB 74
"Castle Doctrine"
Same as HB52, but with stronger language--gives penalties for perps (or their survivors) who try to file civil suits against their victims. Considered by many to be the better of the two Castle Doctrine bills on the floor...
http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/BillLookUp/BillLookUp.pl?Session=2011 &BillID=h74

HB 111
"Handgun Permit Valid in Parks and Retaurants"
Allows people with CHPs to carry concealed in establishments that serve alcohol, and prohibits cities and municipalities from restricting carry in city- or county-owned public parks.
http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/BillLookUp/BillLookUp.pl?Session=2011 &BillID=h111

HB 184
"Concealed Carry Permits: Elected Officials"
Allows elected officials with CHPs to carry in state government buildings.
http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/BillLookUp/BillLookUp.pl?Session=2011 &BillID=h184

HB 241
"North Carolina Firearms Freedom Act"
Similar to the recently-enacted laws in MT, UT, AZ, AK, ID, WY, SD, and TN. This bill removes Federal jurisdiction on firearms and ammo "manufactured and retained in NC".
http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/BillLookUp/BillLookUp.pl?Session=2011 &BillID=h241

HB 390
"Repeal Pistol/Crossbow Transfer Permit"
Would do away with the requirement for Purchase Permits for Handguns and Crossbows.
http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/BillLookUp/BillLookUp.pl?Session=2011&BillID=H390

Hopefully this is useful. Sorry about the not-too-spiffy formatting...

You guys have some good bills working in NC! We have a lot of similar bills in the works here in TX.
A note about your HB 241;
It's a good bill that should pass, but if Montana wins their court case it'll be a moot point. That's what I've been told by various TX legislators about HB's 145 & 298 at any rate. They're pretty similar to the NC bill.

Got a pile in FL too.

Seeing what a daunting task this is, I hope the Brady's heads are spinning, too. :p

To the original poster,

How's your list coming along? I'd like to have a look (if you're not ready to post it just PM me a link or something)

All I can say is it takes a lot of work just for one level of legislation, let alone all the states currently in session AND federal. You've earned my respect hands down if you can manage to keep it all up to date!
