Matthew,

Thank you for the information. I have heard from Rep. Jeff Mursau that he plans on introducing legislation regarding concealed carry after the budget debate. He hasn’t shared a bill draft yet, but I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for it.

Kathy

Subject: Constitutional Concealed Carry

Hello again!!

(VIEW ATTACHMENT FOR PROPOSED LEGISLATION)

As you know Wisconsin already has a form of Constitutional Carry... but it is limited to openly carrying your firearm. This legislation would make the amendments needed to allow law abiding citizens to conceal their firearm for self defense. It would also have a substantial economic benefit to Wisconsin!!! (seen here) http://www.wisconsincarry.org/pdf/Guns_Good_Bans_Bad_WI.pdf

Here is a list of states currently considering Constitutional Concealed Carry (no permits, no classes)

Wyoming Senate passes constitutional carry:

Kentucky legislator introduces constitutional carry bill.

NRA pushes for Constitutional Carry in Iowa and across the country:

Utah considering constitutional carry:

Colorado legislators pushing for constitutional carry bill:

West Virginia is the latest:

Add Tennessee to that list!

New Hampshire

South Carolina is as well even though they aren't calling it that:

As you can see this is picking up steam all across the country!!!

Please pass around the attached document and Guns Good, Bans Bad link.

A GREAT source of information on this topic is Wisconsin Carry Inc.! They can be reached at Nik@WisconsinCarry.org.

I can carry a firearm on my hip right now in Wisconsin as long as it is carried openly for everyone to see. Why should people be felons for putting their coats over the top of that firearm? Why should putting the coat over the top require training and possibly fees (the outcome of Shall-issue legislation). Constitutional Concealed Carry is right for the people!

Kathy, I want to thank you so much for getting back to me every single time I email! It means a great deal to me to see you reaching out to us and taking to time to read emails and respond to your constituents.

I know it isn't much... but it made my day. Glad to know that they are at least talking about it.

ETA: I just sent this email and attached the proposed legislation to Rep. Mursau. I suggest we bombard him with this legislation.... everyone send it to him... everyday!

Thank you MattD for sharing this info.

I would hope Wisconsin would take a leadership roll and pass Constitutional Carry. Be a leader in fiscal responsibility. Lead in the moral and ethical issue of the Constitution of this State and our Country...

Lead in the seldom seen or heard area; in the Capital anyway, of Common sense.

Be smart, strong and resolute with your support of the Constitution.

carry

Even though Article I section 25 of the state consitution protects our right to carry arms for security the Wisconsin supreme court, in all it's wisdom, has ruled that a person can lawfully carry a concealed firearm to protect his/her propery or business. On the other hand the Court says it is unlawful to carry a concealed firearm to protect the security of one's body or family, in spite of the amendment, unless the need substantually outweighs the state's reason to prohibit same. It's all in State v Hamdan. It defies first grade logic. How do you suppose the legislature will handle that dilemma?

My opinion

My post count shows I could care less about it. I was replying to a smartass comment with a smartass comment. Your post contributes nothing more than mine. I'm sure I could get my post count up if i participated in all the constant bickering though. Nice rant though.
