According to the US DOJ, the total losses from corporate crime are 80 times the combined losses for ALL thefts, robberies and burglaries in the US.

According to the US DOL and DOJ, you are nearly 50 times more likely to be killed or seriously maimed by a corporation than a "civilian" criminal.

I think this makes it pretty clear why many Banks and Corporations REALLY don't want customers and employees carrying on their property... :cuss:

Why, the fedgov and the central bank (and its stockholders) of course.

I like the divisive stats presented, Dreamer. (This is not an accusation against Dreamer, but against the DOJ.)

While you may be 80 more times likely to be victimized by corporations, you are 100% likely--guaranteed--to be robbed by the fedgov (taxes) and the Federal Reserve (arbitrarily increasing the volume of money causes price inflation which decreases the buying power of the money you already earned and have in savings.) Nevermind the mind-numbing volume of laws and regulations you might transgress and be further victimized.

Did the special enforcement division of the criminal government happen to say anything about corporations being skewed by excessive regulation? Did it mention Enron became possible because of corporate taxes that threw incentives onto stock prices rather than stock dividends? Did it mention the huge profits its boss makes possible for Northrup Grumman, Halliburton, Rapiscan (airport scanners), and numerous others? While driving manufacturing overseas with excessive taxation at home?

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not pro-criminal corporations. I am, however, anti-divisiness. These stats sound like so much finger-pointing by the crime syndicate misgovernment to throw attention elsewhere and get Americans arguing with each other about free market principles, rather than uniting against government tyranny. And, of course to convince us that more government power is needed to regulate business.

As a contrast to illustrate my point, you'd think the government would be talking up employers to encourage economic growth during the worst economic disaster since 1929, rather than running down the nation's largest employers.

Some folks just can't resist the Nazi analogies.

Because some folks fit the description so well.....

Interesting thing is how much the NAZI's actually borrowed from American presidents and Ideas, in the much dreaded socializing that had happened since Wilson on to FDR (and still continues)

According to the US DOL and DOJ, you are nearly 50 times more likely to be killed or seriously maimed by a corporation than a "civilian" criminal.

Their figures include accidental and avoidable deaths in hospitals. It's estimated that 227,000 hospital deaths which occur each year here in the U.S. are AVOIDABLE. This figure is similar to those reported by various news agencies, often by their resident M.D. on the news staff.

Here's another source which report its just 87,000 deaths per year.

Regardless, the first link got it right: Much of the funds made by hospitals isn't spent on patient care, but is instead diverted to satisfy corporate greed.

One of the instructors in my masters' program used to work on the hospital administration staff as a senior financial analyst. Patient care wasn't a factor in their investment decisions with respect to purchasing new equipment or upgrading facilities, except to meet minimum federal requirements. Rather, the hospital was a business. They were in it to make a buck! They actually decided on a poorer-quality MRI machine simply because it would save them 4% per year over its competitor which had 30% greater resolution.

I think this makes it pretty clear why many Banks and Corporations REALLY don't want customers and employees carrying on their property... :cuss:

Interestingly enough, my local bank was founded after a highly decorated Army Air Corps pilot. They have no problem with my OCing in the branch office closest to me. My other bank, USAA, was founded by and for members of the military and family members. I can't get through the front door OCing, and they have a metal detector one must pass through before one exits the lobby into the corporate offices!

A friend of mine who works there says it's to keep the employees from going postal on one another, as the stress occasionally gets to someone who then suffers from a breakdown. Given the fact that customers aren't generally allowed in the corporate offices (just the lunchroom as a guest, but must be escorted through the metal dector by an employee), I believe her.

Still, what's to prevent an employee from going postal with a letter opener? All it takes is a 0.25-second stab in the right place, and no ambulance in the world can respond fast enough - they're done for. Even if it occurred in the ER of a hospital, the vic's chances would still be 50-50.

As for what corporations do to food to get people to each more... Don't get me started! MOST cuts of beef at Walmart have been "flavor-enhanced" by means of some sort of rinse or marinate, and is why I buy beef from a source that serves beef, and nothing but the beef.

If people saw what I could do with a knife, they'd be a lot more frightened than if they knew I carried a HG, lol.

PS, I'm totally kidding, I just butter a mean piece of toast. Yeah, that's the ticket.

YOu know some of us military vets have more liability with our hands than with a firearm.

Let say i get jumped and i fight back , I am charged with assault with a deadly weapon for my fists. Now if get jumped and present a firearm to stop the attack im not breaking any laws

I say this cuz its happened to me IN SO CAL. first time i was arrested for assault with deadly weapon, then won in court. now i used a firearm the next time and nothing happened
