Thumbs up Todays SB 234 Passed

Todays SB 234 Passed without the new amendment that Bogdanoff proposed.

    Bogandoff withdrew her amendment yahooooooo.
We need to thank all that supported this bill.
And also Thank Hammer for her support and opposed the amendment.
Boy oh boy didn't these cops fight
    God Bless America.

Heard the votes! Sweet about the Rules schedule. Glad it's so soon, they'll have a hard time amending it effectively by then... But with Neocon-RINO's backstabbing us at every stop, I'm guessing the sherriffs, retailers, and RINOs are having an all-night vigil to plot up their last all-out assault on freedom and reason Friday...

    That was quick!

Maybe somebody knew something we didn't, and I stressed for no reason

Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind? ” -Bastiat

I don't "need" to openly carry a handgun or own an "assault weapon" any more than Rosa Parks needed a seat on the bus.

I don't know about no reason, that amendment killed it if adopted.

Then they amend both 234/517 to read "All FL residents are hereby considered licensed (in accordance with the Federal Gun Free School Zone Act) to carry any firearms they can legally own, openly or concealed, in any location not otherwise prohibited by federal law; nothing herein shall prohibit anyone from storing any firearm he or she can legally own in the trunk or glovebox of any private conveyance they own or have a legal right to use; all private businesses (including but not limited to private colleges, universities, and techinical centers) shall be subject to a fine of upto $500,000 for having or attempting to enforce any institutional policy that would infringe upon any of these rights. This is to be construed liberally in favor of the law-abiding individual. Florida residents may purchase, sell, or trade long guns in any state as long as all parties involved meet all relevant federal laws and the laws of both states for private transfers" and send them to the full floor votes, followed by the governor's signature.

I'm composing some hate mail to her right now.

How hard will this be to deliver to the rules committee. I see it says “if received” on the rules committee’s agenda for Friday. Any idea on how the rules committee’s members are likely to vote. I see they are mostly Republicans which doesn’t mean much to me.

These are the one's who already voted on it before, and/or are co-sponsors:
    Senator John Thrasher (R) yes
    Senator JD Alexander (R)
Senator Larcenia J. Bullard (D) (plan on no - collects "butterfly shaped objects")
    Senator Anitere Flores (R) yes
    Senator Don Gaetz (R) yes
    Senator Andy Gardiner (R)
    Senator Dennis L. Jones, D.C. (R)
    Senator Gwen Margolis (D) no
    Senator Joe African Americann (R)
    Senator Garrett Richter (R) yes
Senator Gary Siplin (D) (plan on no - NAACP)
Senator Christopher L. "Chris" Smith (D) no
    Senator Stephen R. Wise (R)

Now I'll admit, I think butterflies are cool too, and the NAACP has (or was it the ACLU?) stood up for some black dude's right to own a gun or something like that, but generally can't but feel that senators sharing this stuff on their senator profiles aren't going to be interested in helping pass open carry...

The people on the Rules committee and their emails, and how they voted if they were sitting on a previous committee:

We need 7. Presuming the 4 who already put a yes on it still vote yes this time, we only need 3 more to go yes. I think this is probable. We have 5 who might, and we only need 3 of them.

I am not a fan of form letters. I like each message they receive to be from a different person, and with their own points/views. I'm not discouraging form letters, they work for lazy people who might otherwise not send a message. ;-)

[this message is a work in progress]
