    Benacquisto

    Per her aid:

"I believe she, like others, had some concerns with open carry on college campuses. I haven’t had a chance to have an at length discussion with her about it but I believe she plans to support it on the floor. She has voted pro-gun on every other piece of legislation. "

    to which I responded:
"Thank you for your time. College Carry has been struck from the bill so that should alleviate her concerns. "

So we should be confirmed good with her.
“If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind? ” -Bastiat

I don't "need" to openly carry a handgun or own an "assault weapon" any more than Rosa Parks needed a seat on the bus.

    Bennett is NO

    Update op- bennett is no

    Me:

    Hi,

Do you know if Senator Bennett supports restoring open carry rights to CWF license holders? SB 234 has passed all of its committees and will come up for a vote on the floor next week. Thanks for any info.

His aide: "No he does not"

Me: "Thank you. His anti-rights position will be reported to thousands of Fl gun owners through the web."

    Senator Oelrich

    http://www.ocala.com/article/2011011...9665?p=2&tc=pg

Nicely and politely hammer his email and phone lines. I assumed given his LEO background it would be an instant NO.

Maybe not. Now that forced campus carry is out of there, it sounds like he could be swayed.

    The link works for me.

He said he'd support removing criminal penalties for carry on campus, but still let schools ban carry for students by policy. He said OC "sounds like the wild west, but then again permit holders have an excellent record."

Speaking of TX, looks like they might be the last hope for OC this year. LEO's didn't even testify against it there. If not, we'll be 0-4.

Jeez, stop giving up already! We got 18-20 confirmed yeas, with 2-3 'very' likely yeas, against 19-20 nays. All we need is 20 yeas with one of the rest either absent of abstaining. If Haridopolous is favorable, can't he and Evers postpone it a day if all nays are present until a day we're missing an anti? Just one missing or abstaining will suffice.

I wasn't looking for them, but I only saw absences in the full session, not abstentions, whereas in committee there would be some VA's-which I assume means abstained. You can look up the histories on the senate website. If bullard eats a lot of sugar over the weekend, hopefully she'll be in too poor of health too come.

Bullard has her "bicycle safety" bill up the same day as 234. Reason enough to make the drive/flight?

Hopefully not. I certainly don't think bicycle safety warrants legislature

    Calendar Update from Morris, Annalee.Mon,April 25 3:59:23pm

This is what I got today: This is a calendar update for two House Bills that have been placed on the Special Order Calendar for tomorrow.

HB 45 by Representative Gaetz and HB 155 by Rep. Brodeur have been placed on the calendar and HB 45 has had an amendment filed by Rep. Gaetz. HB 155, at this time, has not had an amendment filed. I have provided links below so you may view any amendments that might be offered during tomorrow’s Session.

Session is slated to begin at 11:00am and will go until 8:00pm or until the completion of business before the House of Representatives. You can watch Session via a “live feed” by going to the links provided below. Due to the legislation on the Special Order Calendar, I do not have the precise time the bills will be taken up. However, my best guess would be after 1:30pm.Link to watch Session live:

    http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sectio...e/preview.aspx

Link to watch Session at a later date using “House Session Archives”:

    http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sectio...broadcast.aspx

    I hope this helps out.

Thank you for your email about Senate Bill 234. Senator Benacquisto has been a strong proponent of protecting Floridians Second Amendment rights. She has worked with the bill sponsors throughout session to make sure that the final legislation is the best policy for the State of Florida. She plans to vote for the bill on the floor when it is up for vote.

If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact our office.

She wasn't ok with OC at colleges. Now she's on board.
