Many have commented on how the responsibilities of carrying a HG have caused you to be a calmer, more polite or at least more quickly forgiving person.

I noticed today, that even though I am normally a very safe driver, I'm even more careful to respect all signs and speed limits, keep to the right, let people into traffic and not tailgate.

I think if more people carried, it could translate into better driving out there. It's a two-edged sword situation. You know the other guy is definitely packing (say you saw him at the range) and you're more apt to be polite, wave him on, etc. But if everyone was carrying, we'd not only be polite, but being responsible, we'd be de-escalators.

It takes two to make a road rage, imo. If you're just 'not playing' it's hard for anyone to engage you in that.
