I wrote an email to the director of security at south point asking about their policy on open carry because I was going to have some friends from Arizona (who OC) stay at southpoint since I have open carried there a lot and never been asked to leave. Here is the response.
Dear Mr. XXXXX,
Thank you for your email reference the open carrying of firearms. It is the hotel policy of asking guests with firearms to either check their gun in with security or secure it off property. Being a retired law enforcement officer, I appreciate your desire to carry your firearm. Unfortunately it causes a discomfort for many of our guests not to mention the amount of security calls we receive stating there is a man with a gun in an area.
I hope that you reconsider staying at our hotel but I certainly understand if not carrying your weapon on you while inside the building makes you feel uncomfortable.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Bryant / Security Director
