Anti OC NOPD Commander facing intense scrutiny

8th District commander Ed Hosli is under the microscope for possible illegal contracts with the city to monitor traffic cameras and also for holding more than one Homestead Exemption. He's also accused of cooking the books on crime stats.

This is the guy who gave OCDO member estrch a great deal of grief for OCing in the French Quarter.

Apparently, Mitch had enough of the bad press and suspended both the 8th Distric commander and the head of the city's Public Works Department because of the Traffic Camera program.

I am interested in where the former Public Works chief will turn up next. He will be hired somewhere very shortly at a substantial salary, never missing a beat--or a paycheck!! Same for Hosli and company.

Here is the contact info for the new 8th district commander. As noted here the former commander Hosli was an opponent of anyone who wanted to defend themselves from the constant crime that was happening in his district. Hosli is now accused of tax evasion for claiming 2 homestead deductions, and is being investigated for down grading crime reports and for profiting from running a business illegally that had dealings with the city while being an employee of the same city. Hosli is now suspended for up to 120 days with out pay while under investigation. Now would be your chance to get your information out to the new commander of the 8th district as I do not believe that Hosli would have passed along any information you provided him to the officers under him.
