It could also be that some people are so Brainwashed into thinking only cops and thugs have guns that they have a hard time accepting a regular person carrying openly.

We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. If you can get the timing right... Occasionally I buy the next customer's coffee even if they have not arrived yet. One of those pay it forward things. Wouldn't matter if they were LEO or not, but, if they just happened to be....

Maybe it occurs to them that if you really are undercover, you can't tell them which agency you are with.

It is a good idea, however if it is an officer that follows policy he will decline the drink and pay for his own. Of ll the officers I know there was less than a handful that would accept and none of them were troopers.

My wife and I do the same thing for our birthdays and at Christmas. Buy our coffee and a gift card. The we give the gift card to the barista and have them buy everyone behind us one coffee until the card is depleted. We put the stipulation on it that they can't tell anyone who did it. That way we can sit back and watch their expressions.
