Folks,
I just got back from a happy night of shooting my new Kimber 1911s, and from taking one of my ex college students shooting for the first time. Tonight is supposed to be a good night, and I came back here: back to the reality that, while my 1911s are my best-shooting guns, I have to strap a smaller, lighter, and less accurate 1911 IWB because carrying the Colt Gold Cup or the Kimber Custom would be untenable.
I get back to reading a comment from Ixtow stating that in order to try and talk some common sense into a Senator (in this case Dean) you have to be prepared to be placed on an enemy list, and you have to be prepared to endure abuse(s) of power. This is an unbearable situation, and I want you to know: we are a strong and vocal group that needs our marching orders, and we need them as soon as we can have a meeting of the minds regarding what our next steps should be.
We email-bombed during the committees, and then later during the voting. We called. We visited the local offices. What should we do next? My local Senator (Diaz de la Portilla) deserves a thank-you note and a box of chocolates. I would vote for him again in a heartbeat; however, the situation with the eight Senators who remain staunchly anti-rights needs to be remedied, and it can only be remedied by either changing their minds or voting them out.
Political machines shouldn't scare us. We're stronger than that. They got rid of their corrupt government in Egypt with a fraction of the internet "firepower" that We have in the United States, so it's time to organize this thing into a major movement. As an NRA member (I know they screwed us, but for the dark times they were all we had) and a new Florida Carry member, I want you to know that I'm ready, and it appears like you are ready too.
In these dark days, the Bogdanoff and Dean days, I'm searching for some leadership from our elder members: the folks who know their stuff. You know who you are, so make the call from headquarters and tell us what we should be doing next. We're here.
Jesus Rodriguez, Esq.
