You guys have been great answering my questions here. Previously I inquired about buying my deceased fathers pistol from my mother. I got great responses on the process, even from someone who recently when through it. My mother doesn't want to sell, sentimentally attached I guess. Can I legally bring this gun to the range with her permission, then return it to her home???

If you have a CT pistol permit, you can take it anywhere you could take a handgun that you owned. No problems. Ownership is irrelevant.

If she does not have a permit, she can't really do anything other than keep it in the house or bring it to a dealer for sale or repairs.

But again, it is perfectly legal for her to keep it in the house, loaded if she'd like.
