I had said, instead of the 1 & 2 Million dollar a year permit systems that would never make enough to support itself, us tax payers would like to see Constitutional carry which is FREE :)

The Department of Justice does not anticipate a fiscal impact due to the enactment of 2011 Senate Bill 93.
 How many other bills (that actually do something) get that statement?!?!

For SB90,
Total first year costs: $2,106,164
Total second & each following year costs: $1,088,780
And they're thinking they'll get a minimum of 100K applications the first year.
Again, why should WI be different from our neighbors? Our population (as of the 2010 count) was 5.6 million.

For MN:
2003, (about) 15,800 applications
2005, 7400
2006, 9600
2007, 9300
2008, 21,600
2009, 22,400
2010, 17,200 applications, just over 79K valid permits.
[slightly over 5 million population, & they do issue & honor non-resident permits]
(Reports available @ bottom of page here.)

For MI:
2002, 63,000
2003, 30,000
2004, 35,600
2005, 58,400
2006, 40,200
2007, 22,400
2008, 33,400
2009, 73,000
2010, 90,800 [population just under 10 million]
MI neither issues nor honors non-resident permits; in order to carry openly, you must have a permit, but you can't conceal w/o a MI permit.
Reports available here
Reports also detail apps denied & why, licenses revoked & why, & they track the # of suicides by permit holders.
