Some DAs anticipate no long-term fiscal impact; however, others believe there will be a fiscal impact due to the increased workload.
In other words, they don't know.

The Department of Natural Resources anticipates there will be an increase in complaints and incidents of individuals hunting from vehicles and roadways with shotguns, rifles, handguns, bows and crossbows as a result of this bill allowing individuals to possess these weapons loaded and uncased in or on any vehicle. The Department also would expect to see an increase in illegal shooting of wild animals, such as deer, by individuals who will be allowed to possess loaded, uncased handguns while shining wild animals, regardless if they are shining from a vehicle or not.

With the changes made under this bill, it is not possible to accurately estimate the level of increase the Department will see in complaints related to unlawful hunting from roadways and vehicles by individuals who will be allowed to possess loaded uncased rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders, handguns, bows and crossbows in vehicles and to possess handguns while shining.

In other words, they think everybody is a no-good poacher. Penalize everybody because of a very few who think they are above the law. That's why we have the laws that we do. Get over it DNR, we are not all bad. The poachers will still be poachers.

The Department of Corrections is unable to estimate the number of people who would no longer be subject to the criminal penalty provisions of the current law and therefore is unable to estimate the state fiscal impact. State costs could change if a decreased number of offenders are convicted. The average FY10 annual cost for an inmate in a DOC institution is approximately $32,100.

State costs could change if an increased or decreased number of offenders are convicted of a Class C misdemeanor are placed on probation. The average FY10 annual cost to supervise one offender is approximately $2,800.

A local impact will occur if less people are sent to jail due to the repeal of the current criminal penalty. A local fiscal impact cannot be estimated.

Hey, this might actually save the public money. Although, some jobs might be lost.

The Department of Justice does not anticipate a fiscal impact due to the enactment of 2011 Senate Bill 93.

Again, who would of thought there would be ANY increased costs with Constitutional Carry.

If only our founding fathers knew how much our "freedoms" would be costing us now, they would have worded the founding documents differently or maybe they would have thought by now the American people would have already refreshed the tree of liberty. The founding fathers are shaking their heads at all of us from beyond the grave & thinking why did we even bother in the first place... :(

I would think they worded "shall not be infringed" quite well. It is the power hungry that want to control everyone that tried (as quite successfully) to limit our rights. And it is the American people who let them. Well shall sit idly no more!
