New ATF agent in charge in Phoenix; Gunrunner shakeup

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has named a new Special Agent in Charge (SAC) in Phoenix, the office from whence the controversial Operation Fast and Furious arm of Project Gunrunner was launched.

I would love to see the ATF, done away with. The ATF was founded as tax collectors of an unconstitutional tax, and are therefore illegitimate as hell. The agency itself is founded on the charge of violating the constitution and the citizens of the nation. It should be abolished and all its personnel should never be eligible for hire in law enforcement or security work for the rest of their lives. The entire purpose of the BATFE is to figure out how to take peoples’ guns away.

Screw ‘em. ALL of ‘em.

One thing I haven't heard, have they shut down the Gunrunner op or is it still running?

Stunned by yesterday’s revelation by Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) that he supports a proposed requirement to report multiple long gun sales to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives by southwest states gun dealers, gun rights advocate Alan Gottlieb has fired off a blistering letter to the senator that urges him to investigate the ATF instead.
