FOIA the FOIA Request

I sent an FOIA Request to the VITA lawyer that handles FOIA requests, on the 13th, in regard to Skidmarks case. No response!

Today, I'll send another FOIA asking for a copy of my FOIA email.
This pretty well eliminates most arguments the state uses for not responding when it goes to court.

This isn't strictly OC related but enough questions about FOIA get asked here that it may stay.

Just to show how quickly FOIA'ing the FOIA works...
A typical, We ain't got it, answer but at least an answer.

Attached are three emails:

(1) The original email you sent.
(2) My reply email (and I must confess, I have no idea why I addressed it to “Mr. Vance”, but it’s clear from the email that I was responding to your request).
(3) The “Undeliverable” email I received when I sent email (2).

I apologize for not following up more promptly when I received email (3).

To follow up email (2), to the best of my knowledge, no VITA employee prepared or owns the records you requested; therefore, VITA is not the custodian of the records. I believe you may want to direct your request to the Surry County General District Court or the Supreme Court of Virginia, who may be the custodian of the records you are requesting.

So he's saying that his initial e-mail reply to your request "bounced?" Does the e-mail show why? Odd.
