I received this message from Doug and with his permission am posting it for those that still have concern of his well being and still appreciate his inate knowledge of firearm issues. I believe that his video of "Fork in The Road" did play a role in the changes to 167.31 we see in the proposed carry bills and we should put credit where credit is due.

Hi ya! Yes, I am alive and well and more alive and better-off than some
that have been near me.
I left my Island Easter Sunday afternoon and went to Fitchburg for my
car's annual service to include a new clutch and engine stuff this year.
We drove to Effingham in southern Illinois on Tuesday and Ringgold,
Georgia on Wednesday 27 April, on our way to the Florida Bike Safari.
Wednesday evening we walked to a Ruby Tuesday fifty yards away for
dinner and returned about 1900. At 2000 the thunderstorm was
magnificent! I went to the window of our Quality Inn room, to look
towards the racket, but saw a wall of white full of BIG trash. I chased
my wife into the bathroom where we cowered as the air pressure went WAY
down ear-popping fast and up again as fast. We weren't in the BR two
whole minutes.
The tornado dumped the roof of our motel around my car. Others just a
few feet away were buried or upside down. The Ruby Tuesday was gone
except for their stone entry and cooler. We were just yards from the
path of total destruction. Four souls were lost in our parking lot.
We spent the night in an evacuation shelter. I was pleased not to have
had the complication of my sidearm in an anti-gun Red Cross HS gym
shelter sleeping with 300 new 'friends' too close.
We are unscathed except for $9,000 damage to our $3,000 car that was,
thus, totaled by the ins. co. It's in Madison being repaired now at
'Speedy'. My tricycle was damaged but repairable.
