My fellow Open Carriers!

The Las Vegas Open Carry of Southern Nevada is conducting another monthly meet up! We’ve also enjoyed the ambiance of such wonderful hospitality by those establishments that not only welcomed us, but whom also support our constitutional rights.

I thought that this time, we could use a change of pace. You know, go back to those by gone days when “you kill it, you grill it” and the vegetables were fresh and plentiful. From farm fresh eggs to smoked “thunder chicken” (turkey), it’s time for all you law abiding armed citizens to grab your “smoke pole” and join with your fellow open carrying “gun slingers” at Black Bear Diner!

Please spread the word for the “Brush Busting” Meet-up! The info is as follows:

Date: January 31, 2015
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Black Bear Diner
6180 W. Tropicana Ave.
Las Vegas, NV 89103
(702) 368-1077

Hope to see you there! Remember to please bring your spouse! If you have a special someone in your life, please don’t forget to bring them too! As always, the more friends you bring the merrier! It's going to be a good time! And don’t forget to leave the “ACME Guns” at home.

***PLEASE READ***
Remember, we're striving to make this a monthly event so please give me, SharpShootur, a list of any and all OC friendly restaurants and dives that you know of or find. That way, we'll have variety as well as good times!

Made separate thread for this.

Went to Denny's (Warm Springs and Marks), Jiffy Lube, and uh, that's it (because I have a dull life) and no issues. Yesterday, Wal-Mart, Target, and Smiths. No looks, nary a peep. Feels good.

OC my apartment management office, Seafood City, Jolibee, and Chow King.

Forgot to mention, 1 prolonged stare at my firearm from customer seated in Jolibee as I walked passed the booth where he was seated. He never made eye contact with me, so I guess he was either paralyzed with fear or mesmerized in complete adoration of the M&P.

When I know they are clearly gazing at my firearm and not saying anything I smile and with an elevated voice as to give them no chance of not hearing me ask them how are you doing today. In my opinion this does two things. Tells them I know they are staring at my firearm and engages them in a conversation or to choose to clearly be rude and not reply. So far I always get an I’m fine type reply. It is my attempt to show them I am not a moister with a gun. I have a theory every real life friendly encounter with a person legally carrying will trump some of the negative everyday hear say info.

Sounds like a good theory.

Moister=someone or something that moistens, with water expelled from a squirt pistol perhaps. As in, "How do you like my moister (squirt pistol)?" or "Don't worry, I'm not a moister (one who uses a squirt pistol to moisten)" ;)

So that isn't a squirt pistol?
You said moister, not monster.

Spotted an empty holster yesterday in the Bank of America on McCarran and Prater, was it anybody here? Didn't have a chance to try to talk to the guy, would've been curious whether or not he disarmed on his own or had been asked to put it in his car by bank staff.

Nope, not me. To be honest, with the cool weather, I find that I am more cc than oc right now. I love some cloth against my skin instead of my holster so I almost always have a shirt between the holster and my skin. But wearing at least one other shirt, jacket, coat with this weather and the gun's been getting covered quite a bit. I did, however, oc yesterday while de-weeding my front yard. Yea, neighbors look and have even made comments about it (in disapproval) a few times. They say I'm just asking for trouble showing my gun like that. Yep, because America having the most formidable military of any country is "just asking for trouble", right? lol I guess by that reasoning we should all walk around looking lost and weak so that we aren't asking for trouble because of course criminals would rather attack a more formidable foe than someone that looks like a sitting duck victim.

And these kinds of thoughtless opinions is why I know we are doomed

For an excellent comment about someone that actually decided to "think" about the nonsense of antis, go here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/front...ned-when-a-major-gun-company-crossed-the-nra/
and look for Brian Mumford's comment in the comments section below the article. Just awesome! All too often we make decisions based upon little, if any, knowledge of the topic.

Which reminds me..... A California license plate on a vehicle does not mean the people inside are from, or live in, CA. Same mistake was made about me by customers at the DMV as they noticed me changing my CA plate for an NV plate. It was a company vehicle that I took over (my employer had offices all over the world). Just one example. Could have been a rental, company car, purchased or borrowed, owner has another home or office in CA. Point being, opinions with no knowledge of the topic. We all do it..... :)

We had I believe 15 open carrying at Black bear restraint our meet, eat and greet. There were glad to have us with no issue. Great time, the waitress had no problem taking some very nice tips from a bunch of open carry people. Some good stories and good laughs. Kind of interesting how few of the long time posters attend these.

I know its been awhile for us, but these are always opposite our schedule. Our schedule is so oddball compared to many its not fair to others to make them try to accommodate just us.
