Last Sunday my wife and I took our family to breakfast at Shari's on College St off of exit 109. We both open carry almost everywhere. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted with wary smiles but still escorted to a booth and the waitress took our order. We were approached numerous times by the waitresses asking if we were cops or such and we stated no and explained open carry to them they said ok and went about their business. Upon leaving a waitress pulled us aside and said that a man had complained about us open carrying in the restaurant and he wanted to talk to the manager. The manager spoke with the man who informed him that he was a former law enforcement officer and that he would never come back since they allowed us to open carry there and he would tell all his cop friends if we were not asked to leave. The manager politely informed the FORMER LEO that he open carried when he was not at work at that he fully supported us carrying in his restaurant and he would more than gladly show him the door if he was frightened and offended by us carrying in his presence
I left a 25% tip for our waitress and thanked the manager
This last friday the 20th of may my wife and I were having our house packed since we have been reassigned to Fort Sill, OK for 2 years. My wife offered to go to subway to get the movers lunch. She went to the SUBWAY on yelm highway near college street and placed the order, when thaey had almost completed making her order two mid 20's males entered the SUBWAY and started making comments about her carrying openly and started telling her its illegal to carry open, bet she doesn't even know how to use it, why do you have to carry?, asked if she was a cop or something and when her order was done they decided to state they would not eat at that SUBWAY again since they allowed guns in the restaurant, The cachier promptly stated "she just ordered 8 sandwich's 12 drinks so I think we can lose your business and still be good". She then gave my wife a tray of cookies free of charge
