Whatever happened before this video started is kinda important context. I wonder why the video started at the point in time that it did. Did the videographer not start the video until just before the officers took the man out of his scooter? Or did he deliberately edit out the events leading up the rough police action?

I do also question the videographers actions. He should be able to record the police, but he got too close and wouldn't back up when told to do so.

Anyway, until we know what happened before the police picked up the man in the chair, any judgment would be more Olympic conclusion jumping. Of course, we have a lot of potential gold-medalists here.

Yea, I agree. I looks bad to see a disabled man laying in a pool of blood, but we have no idea what he had done either. Either way and no matter what he was doing, the body slam just wasnt something I would have done unless he had a weapon or something.
For all we know, he could have stolen the skooter off somebody and was faking it. :uhoh:

I am not sure it was a "body slam." I think they were trying to take him down, but it looks like one officer got his feet tangled with the man, and all three went to the pavement. It could have been an intentional slam, but I don't see convincing evidence of intent.

Who knows what caused all that. Just doesnt look good when a disabled man gets his head busted open like that.

..who thinks "Cops Can Do NO Wrong"!!

Yeah.. Right. The cop got his feet tangled up. And Cops wonder why the general public think so unfavorably about them. All one has to do is Google Bad Cops to find over 3,230,000 results on the subject.

total ouch.... I"m not sure what could justify doing what they did, but I agree that the entire video needs to be viewed to draw a full conclusion.... still... again, not sure what could justify this kind of use of force.

Doing a search for this I found a bunch of small articles about it. They mostly say the same thing, but what they do say is strange. Such as the police are claiming the man suddenly fell out of his wheelchair.

Nothing shocks me anymore because we live in a Police state, no one has rights anymore & the American people are too cowardly to band together and correct the problem......Two big tough guy police ooficers ripping a disabled man from a wheel chair & slamming him down face firsts into the cement, laying there in a pool of blood...do you think this guy has had a crappy enough life with out this happening to him ???? Does it really matter what the disabled man that is confined to a motorized chair did leading up to this ?????? NO ! The Police should NEVER EVER TREAT A DISABLED PERSON LIKE THIS !

All I can say SOON, very soon I hope the RESET HAPPENS !

Actually it seems pretty obvious it was. The officer on the left(closest to the road) intentionally extended his leg out across both the feet of the guy in the wheelchair causes him to fall on his face. I will say that the officer on the right looked as if he was not expecting the other officer to do that. He looked like he was trying to let him down less hard than the other officer and then the other officer tripped the guy causing the officer on the right to loose his footing and fall with the rest of them. But the officer on the left definitely tripped the man on purpose. Whether it was justified is hard to tell since we can't see the beginning, however I don't see what a man in a wheelchair could do to cause the body slam. Seems to me if the guy was breaking a law they could have just put the cuffs on and pushed him to the cruiser.

Metro maintains that the officers asked the man to leave and he resisted. When the officers went to arrest him, the officers claim that the man stood up, fell and took them to the ground.

2 Metro Transit Police Officers Placed on Administrative Leave After Arrest of Disabled Man
Assault charge dropped against Dwight Harris

WASHINGTON - A Metro spokesman has confirmed to FOX 5 the two Metro Transit Police officers that arrested a wheelchair-bound man, which was captured on cell phone video and posted on YouTube, have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation into the incident.

A statement released by Metro said, “the patron resisted arrest which resulted in him falling out of his wheelchair."

Good thing someone recorded it and posted it to Youtube!

Actually, what REALLY happened, is this guy in the wheelchair is a returning Vet, who is suffering from PTSD, and is a hard-core conspiracy theorist member of White Al-Caida. He was "baiting" the police with a voice recorder, while handing out "Jury Nullification" flyers, and when he tried to speed away from the police (who JUST wanted to ask him some questions) the lanyard of his voice recorder got caught in the wheels of his scooter, ejecting him from the chair onto the concrete.

It was later found that he had three baggies of prescription drugs on his person (none of which, interestingly enough, had his fingerprints on them, but were, oddly, in official department-issue evidence bags), and his cellphone was found to have child porn and bootleg music illegally downloaded to it, despite the fact that it wasn't a smartphone.

He is being charged with "evading a question", "moping with intent to creep", Creating an Unauthorized Public Educational Event", "assault of an officer with a deadly scooter", and "Operating a motorized chair without proper tags or a license".

Charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing, so you can't FOIA any of the records for this case, but the Mayor's office has announced that all the involved officers will receive commendations for their part in apprehending this dangerous terrorists, as well as new boots to replace their old, blood-coated ones...

Why is NOT surprising that this occurred in Washington DC.

I've been at that Metro Stop--U Street Cardoza. It's mostly clubs, stores and restaurants in that neighborhood. During the day it's pretty dead in that area, but after 10pm--especially on weekends--it gets pretty jumpin'.

And even when I was going to clubs in that area--10+ years ago--the DC-MPD was always throwing their weight around--especially with people who looked like they "didn't belong" in the area...

A LEO did this in C'ville, ran into the guy in a wheelchair and jumped out and tried to pull him back into the chair, injuring him further.

When you make a mistake, you should own up to it, imo.

That is a deliberate and malicious misrepresentation. Shame on you.

If you read everything I write, you will find that that is not my attitude at all. Sometimes police actions demand criticism. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes there is not enough information for a conclusion (though some here will jump to one anyway).

I hope for an apology, but don't expect one. I have posted several times that I respect everyone until they prove they don't deserve it. Such an uncorrected misrepresentation would warrant my disrespect.

Folks, look at the video for yourself and make your own judgment. Look at the feet of the cop on the left. It looks to me like they get tangled. Combine that with all three hitting the ground pretty hard, and I have to wonder if the move happened exactly as the officers intended. But make your own judgment.

Oh...and "good cops" produced 11,000,000 results.

Hi MR Redenck,
This is the second half, where is the first half?
Why made police treat that disable person so hard?
Does you or anyone here solve this mystery here?

If that ever happens to ME, I will OWN those cops AND their department! You do NOT treat ANYONE like that. There is NO reason for it at ALL!
