how to carry in a vehicle

I'm coming up to Jackson county this weekend from NC and i'm wondering how to carry in my vehicle without a permit. Could I keep the gun in the glove box and the magazines in the console?

The tricky part is that Ohio considers the firearm "loaded" if you have even one round in any magazine for it (or in a speedloader if it's a revolver). Such "loaded" transport of a handgun is legal only if you have an Ohio-recognized carry license. With long guns that strange definition applies to everybody, magazines must be empty.
