GRNC Alert 5-24-11:
RANGE PROTECTION PASSES SENATE

This afternoon, SB 560: "Sport Shooting Range Protection" passed out of the North Carolina Senate by a vote of 36-13. Speaking on behalf of the bill was Sen. Andrew Brock (R-Davie/Rowan, GRNC ****). Speaking against the bill were Sens. Josh Stein (D-Wake, GRNC 0-star) and Floyd McKissick (D-Durham, GRNC 0-star). Because the rules were suspended to permit both Second Reading and Third Reading on a single day, SB 560 passed the Senate and now heads for the House. The bill is now immune from the legislature's June 9 "crossover deadline" and remains alive for next year even if not acted upon by the House before probable adjournment in July.

Forget about the statistically unsupported fear-mongering that critics of the 2nd Amendment spew forth. These folks usually have the dismal outlook that the only thing keeping "us" from killing each other on the streets is access to a convenient means, such as a firearm. I know that people are better than that, and should be trusted accordingly. I've carried a .45 for the last 10 years, and I've never shot anyone.

Think of Liberty and Freedom first, always first. I'm a normal, friendly guy who carries a gun; for protection and also out of respect for the better men than I that died to protect my rights.

Sincerely,
