One man's Freedom is another man's Oppression.

If you read through topics on this page, as well as others, you will find that there is a general consensus that we are headed in A direction; as to whether the direction is 'good' or 'bad' is up for debate.

I know that life is what we make of it, but it seems like the many powers/influences beyond our control are pointing us in a downward direction. It scares me to think of the world my son might be growing up in.

Ahhhh... Now I see why I had to go with "Outdoorsman1"...

It is extremeley obvious that not only the U.S., but the world is headed in a path of self destruction. The really sad part is those that will be effected most are those that have nothing to do with the final outcome and also "deserve" it the least. Those that are in "CONTROL" and will be able to ride out the storm are those that deserve that privelge the least. I also think there is still hope for a positive outcome as soon as it gets bad enough for the sheeple (wow, first time ever I used that term) to wake up and effect a real change.. but that hope is getting smaller by the day..

Yep, I got here first. Anyway, the future just looks really bleak to me right now. Maybe because it's raining today.

Nihilism isn't a bad thing as long as you come up for air every now and then.

Things appear to be bad. I think people should keep in mind that technologically we live in a world where everything that is going on everywhere, at every moment is being, or can be streamed into our homes 24/7, and it might seem overwhelming, and as though the world is crashing in on us, and falling apart.

Let's try to keep things in perspective.

The world is a slinky and its being pulled two (hundred million) different directions.

There are multiple wars going on in the middle east right now (not just ours as you should well know). There are World record size riots in greece, a country that has just had a massive economic collapse, because of you guessed it, debt they defaulted on. If you dont know what Mutually Assured Economic Destruction is, look it up, you should be scared S***less. we have economies slowly, and not so slowly, collapsing all around the globe, countries that still have money are putting it into gold because they don't trust the US dollar any more. BTW the USD is what Global currency exchange is based on. We have George soros calling for a new world order, he hates america and everything it stands for. IE freedom of the individual to make his own life, freedom, and fortune. there is Fahride alzacant pronounceakarez, calling for a SECOND HOLOCAUST because the "jews are more dangerous than any disease, virus, weapon etc" ( i paraphrased but none the less that what he said...ON GLOBAL TV). we just dont see it here because of our liberal media wont admit there is anything wrong.

In the US we have the a socialist, welfare loving, president (thats not just some right wing bias, look at all the people he's associated with and who he has admitted are his mentors, his voting record as a senator etc etc etc) that is over stepping the constitutional bounds of the executive branch further than any president in history with no retort, outcry, or demand for accountability from congress or the overly apathetic majority of the citizens. Our president also just recently violated 2 of our allies, pakistan and Israel, china owns us, japan (and china i think also) has stopped buying our debt. We have all our corn (read food) being turned into gunky inefficient fuels, that foul the engines in our cars. this drives commodity prices up while no adjustment is possible on the consumer side, only the cost side. We have middle eastern counties dictating how much oil we get and how much we pay, which is important not only for consumers, what about our military? also the aforementioned president is trying to impose cap and trade regulations, which would cause and i quote "commodity prices would necessecarily skyrocket". what? why? does that make any sense to you? don't you think that if that would happen we should come up with something different? we have unsecured borders, that our president assures us are secure and more boots on the ground are not necessecary, Meanwhile 45 miles away there were bullets flying in a fire fight ON OUR F****** SOIL!!!!!!! We have the highest tax rates in history, and consequentially the lowest gov revenue ever, there are earmark, corporate bailouts, gov. take overs of PRIVATE INDUSTRY, CEO bonuses of failing companies ON TAXPAYER MONEY. over 14.3 Trillion in debt, and a congress that will not consent to cutting anything from our budget. there is pending renewal of certain provisions of the patriot act (that are also unconstitutional, but idk the status of this right now, hard to find believe it or not.) Politcal correctness is running rampant, and ill stop here but i could go on and on and on and on. Oh and did i mention monetization of our debt? hyper inflation here we come.

oh and in reguards to my obama disapproval, yes i am white, and no i am not a racist (not accusing anybody of labeling me racist, but i know there are some that would play that card, hopefully no body here though) . I support Herman Cain. Who is that you ask? http://www.hermancain.com/ Only probably the best candidate ive seen in the 2 elections ive been old enough to able to comprehend.

I am but one person, I pay attention to the news and the world around me. My votes will be cast accordingly. the problem right now is that far far far far far too many of my peers do not do the same. also they do not understand the implications of actions and decisions, of our government, and those we oppose and befriend. why? because the are not taught history in school, and no moral or ethical values anywhere. I am saddened by the apathy of my peers.

how can we wake up?

I talk with my friends about this issue. Most aren't readers of local news, so to think they have a clue of what is going on Nationally, or Geopolitically is a waste. I remind my friends just how unstable economies are around the World. They get this blank, uninformed look on their face (regardless of 'political stance'), and typically don't even know what "world economy" is, or the meaning of "geopolitics" (a number of my friends are college educated ). Maybe it's for the better they are oblivious to the world around them, freaking cattle, they are standing in line to a slaughter house, and don't even realize it.

That is why there are riots in Greece right now....anger at sudden realization

I know that my response here has a 90% - ok, 99% - chance of initiating all hell breaking loose on this thread, but:

This is why I have stated previously that individuals have to be told what the think, generally. The vast majority of the population are incapable of grasping complex issues that require a contemplative, logical intellect that is prepared, and open to acquire knowledge, consider the totality of issues, both 'good' and 'bad', and formulate coherent, 'reasonable', 'rational' conclusions to the complex issues on a National scale, and hopefully a Global scale.

The Crunch is soon upon us. It's depressing I had to be born to late, and dealing with this at the age of 22. But at least I am able to comprehend the situation.

Sometimes I think ignorance is bliss.....

A person who is poor wants to invest, invest in ammunition. The economy is going to collapse again, BIG, and you better pray you have some food in storage, and some ammunition, and firearms to protect your families. Hopefully I am just paranoid.

Neither political party, including the 'tea party' is going to take this ship anywhere, but ride it down. Just my .02

Indeed. Untill reality comes crashing down around your ignorant, unprepared butt. then ignorance is damnation. Personally i prefer being informed so at least i know what's coming and can at the very least try to do something about it.

we all pray that it is just paranoia. none the less, i will be preparing my self in a similar fashion. again i pray that you and i are both simply paranoid.

as for not going this ship not any where, right now its the titanic, but there are still lifeboats for now, we just have to take advantage of them. I feel as though ( and i hope with every ounce of my soul that i am right) that we are beginning a revolution, not a violent one, not an overthrow, not a coup d'tat, but a return to the values and spirt that built this country.People are beginning to be fed up with being told what they need, being told they will have everything given to them and yet receiving nothing. I dont give a damn about not getting anything from the government, in fact, im offended that as a proud american I GET TOLD WHAT IM GOING TO BE GIVEN BY THE GOVERNMENT. obamacare anybody? i am further offended that code pink and obama are trying their best to alienate our allies and our values and our "unbiased media" does not air jack **** for informative news. these things are dangerous, that is why i prepare my self.

as for your .02 worth... with inflation thats closer to 2.60

just my 2.60 worth.
