But one of the Republicans targeted for recall - Sen. Luther Olsen of Ripon - said he would vote against concealed weapons legislation if it did not require permits and training. Another recall target, Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills), has said she also wants the bill to include those requirements.

Neither of those two are supporting the State Republican Party Platform, which supports Constitutional Carry (verified at the Convention in the Dells this last weekend). Therefore the Republican Party should not feel it necessary to support them.

Is a true conservative going to run against them? If not, would a democrat be an acceptable alternative?

Only if control of the Senate would be retained with their defeat. Electing an individual doesn't mean as much electing a majority of the party that sees things your way. Reason, control of committees. Watch the video of SB 93 being passed by the Senate committee for a classic example of why this is important. After electing a majority party, having the right people on a committee is just as important. Imagine how SB 93 would have been different if Olsen and Darling were 2 of the 3 Republicans on that committee.

Best bet for now, if they have no primary canidate against them is to support them now, then get a true supporter of the Constitution to run against them in the next election.

My point exactly flipper- I hope we are astute enough to realize this, and avoid losing a republican seat in the recalls due to bitterness.

Unfortunately when we vote in the lesser of two evils we end up with the evil of the two lessers.

The only thing arrogant, ignorant and stubborn people understand is force. In this case the force to push them out of office in a recall election. If you really want to make a point. The point is you lose your job if you go against the Constitution or "We The People"!
