Does anyone have any experiences or info about open carry in Shopping Malls? Specifically within Fairfax County. IE: Tyson's Shopping Center, Fair Oaks Shopping Mall, White Flint Mall.

I'm still a bit confused if OC is allowed or not allowed in Virginia shopping malls.

Thanks a bunch !

There really isn't a "is or is not allowed" in "Virginia shopping malls", because they are all privately owned property. Each owner has the ability to set a policy that they feel is best.

I'm sure you will get answers from members who know the particulars for each mall you listed.

Each owner has the ability to set a policy that they feel is best.

Keep this in mind with ALL PRIVATE PROPERTY.
If asked to leave please do so, plead your case/argue the point later.
Please, don't ask for them to post signs, even though I would personally prefer to know their policy up front.

Have OC'ed in all the Big box malls in NoVA with out incident for 2005-2010.

YMMV!

Tell us how that works out at White Flint... in 15 - 20 (years) after you get out. Maryland is no joke. Don't even THINK about carrying in that Socialist Wonderland.

I've heard about folks OCing in Fair Oaks without a problem and being asked to leave from Springfield (probably because they want to make sure criminals have a Gun Free Criminal Zone from which to select their next victim).

As a general rule, most malls are posted in small wording in a corner window at one or two obscure entrances that no one ever uses. Personal experience of mine was OCing in Patrick Henry Mall in Newport News (have fun finding my previous post with the details). It was quite entertaining!
