We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. They're usually overpriced on most things. They do have some great sales every now and then though.

This is all you'd need to get a WI permit assuming you have nothing else. According to the requirements at the top of pg 6 of the amendment (below), this class qualifies: "available to the public & is offered by a law enforcement agency"

If this bill passes as-is, let's do our best to publicize this link.
Take some revenue from the instructors who pushed so hard for required training, just to line their pockets.

Do You Have Authoritative Confirmation
that this course qualifies? Or are you making your best guess? It appears that instructors must be certified by DOJ. This also implies that there is an instructor. Doesn't hurt to take the course but I wouldn't rely on it being accepted and suggest that another means be utilized (instead of or in addition to the MD course).

Went To Gander...Saw Extremely High Prices And Left....

This is offered by the MD State Police (meets #3),
obviously freely available to the public on the web (#2),
& is the safety training they require of their citizens to get a permit (#1).
Even with the assortment of other documentation I have that I could use, I'm going to use the MD course.
In part to show the stupidity of their requirement.
In part because if they deny me a permit then they're breaking the law.

Why not get it from the guy who priced it right the first time?
Well, I used to buy all of my ammo from farm and fleet, then I was informed of the anti gun policy that they have, the gander is about a mile closer to me. And of course they price match, so that's why I won't go where they "priced it right the first time". So unless somewhere else prices lower, ill stick to f&f prices at gander. Who sells ammo cheaper?

Their selection is less than stellar. Their reloading section is a joke. They were at their best back when they were mostly a catalog operation with the store in Wilmont. Been downhill ever since they decided to go national. At least Cabela's has what I need 9 out of 10 times. How sad that I have to drive for over an hour when I have a Gander 10 minutes from home. :banghead:

It's nowhere near what someone really needs to know to safely carry, & it doesn't deal with the legal or emotional issues surrounding a SD situation.
