    Late afternoon to evening picnic?

What is the general feeling towards having the picnic a little later in the day, say about 3:00 or 4:00 to 7:00 or 8:00ish?

I know that the Burke Lake picnic has always been earlier in the day, but it has always conflicted with my work schedule, and I really want to be able to make it to one of these. Plus, a later start time might mean slightly cooler temps by the end.

    Thoughts?

I have been ill and will not be available until after the 10th of July, thus voting for the later dates.

I'm OK with the "later in the day" part too. My only concern is getting tables, since they're first-come, first-served. It's been my experience in the previous years, however, that later on the tables clear out. We're often the last ones leaving at around 4:00.

I'm game for later in the day, hopefully it won't be an issue.

I voted for July 16th because my sister is getting married on June 25th and July 23rd just seems too far away. As long as it is not the 25th, I will be there and I can bring whatever.

Oh, yes. Your reference is VA Code 15.2-915, the pre-emption statute.

Its not only legal but has a proven track record as a helicopter lure. (reference to an earlier Burke Lake picnic that reeled in a police helicopter and a squad of cops sneaking through trees with ballistic shields.)

I'm glad I became a fourm member when I did. I'll check back often to see the set time and date, then mark my calendars, and hope to not forget. Where is NOVA Burke Lake?

All three (3) dates work for me, just need to know a time of day.

I still have the citro-candle pails from last year, and can be there early to "reserve" the tables if need be (disclaimer - there will still be cigar smoke, its a wonderful insect repellant).

Depending on time of day for event, I may even do a grilled meat.

Either date in July works for me as my calendar is presently arranged. I'll be doing a firearms law "mini-lecture" for Berny Hostrop's NRA instructor training course on June 25.

Ruger will have to come with me, though:

Everyone having a question regarding the application of law to the facts of their situation should seek the advice of an attorney competent in the subject matter of the issues presented and licensed to practice in the relevant state.

I'm sure there will sufficient entertainment for Ruger. We all know how easily those burgers slip off the grill, after all.

I *might* be able to make the 16th. My son is coming home from Boy Scout camp early that day, so it depends on how he's feeling.

My summer schedule has changed, I didn't think I could make any of the dates, but it looks like 7/16 might actually work for me...
